Collaboration
Restorative Body Therapy encompasses four distinct approaches to alleviating physiological and structural imbalances your body. After reviewing your intake form and what you choose to share about your body, together we will decide what attributes from specific therapies might benefit you most. Your goals and intentions for each session are always the guiding factors in determining what we focus on.
Communication
Communicating during your session is essential to having a positive experience and result. As we address imbalances in your body, it can be normal to encounter some possible unease. Experiencing this can be a way that our bodies convey a potential imbalance that is in need of attention. However, everyone has a different threshold for discomfort and while I can perceive much about your body’s structure and tensions, only you are aware of your internal experiences.
Restoration
Your sense of comfort is the most important aspect of your appointment and helps facilitate a more effective outcome from your session. When you are at ease, I am more easily able to observe and determine possible imbalances. In working together, our objective is to create a more balanced state-of-being for your body. Please let me know if there are any additional elements (i.e. adjusting music, temperature, lighting) that would support you during your session.
Education
Each session can be a truly educational experience for you and your body. Learning to interpret different sensations in your body and how they impact your physiology can be genuinely transformative. It is always my intention to provide you with as much information as you would like on how your body works or why something feels the way it does. Understanding your body more can help you in caring for it outside of our sessions.
