Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga sessions combine Arogya (yoga therapy) methodology and attributes of Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga. Each session is personalized to meet your body where it is at and address specific areas of restriction or stagnation while providing comprehensive guided assistance, support and encouragement. Therapeutic Yoga addresses imbalances and limitations in soft tissues (muscles, fascia, tendons & ligaments) through mindful positioning of your body in specific sequencing patterns. Active stillness and holding in postures targets soft tissues and the nervous system simultaneously. Through this process we are able to reduce stress and anxiety, release stagnant energy, improve physical flexibility and joint mobility, quiet the mind, reduce bodily tension and cultivate mental endurance. Therapeutic Yoga is also excellent for imparting both perseverance and resilience in the body and mind. Specifically designed individual flows allow for instinctive transitions between the superficial and deep tissues of the body in each chosen pose. Through slow and conscious movement of the body, the Parasympathetic Nervous System (rest-and-relaxation) is also able to become dominant.
